My client is a leading US Investment Bank, known for its unbeatable profits, and more specifically its huge fixed income business in New York.
As part of a significant global project, heavily backed by the CTO, an opportunity has arisen on the front office fixed income desk in NYC for a talented and business focused java developer.
The role itself will entail working on a large scale, front office trading system for the fixed income business and the java developer will take a heavy involvement in the design and development of the cutting edge system.
The team consists of highly experienced technologists, quants, traders and strategists, and your role will require that you quickly become an expert of the fixed income space in order to interface with the front office users regularly.
The successful java developer will require the following skill set;
-Strong java
-Multi-threading
-Experience with C# and .net framework
-XML
-Sybase
-Experience in a software development team – ideally in finance
Whilst the team would ideally wish to see a java developer with a background in fixed income, they will be willing to consider those with no financial experience if they are motivated, quick learners, driven and take a wide interest in finance/derivatives.
The fixed income business itself has a great reputation for being the leading business globally, thus this is a great opportunity for an intelligent developer looking to get a strong foothold in a front office environment.
